How does it work?

Working from our commercial kitchen in Ballina our team of professional chefs source, prepare and pack an ever changing menu of gourmet heat and serve meals. Choosing the best, fresh produce that the Northern Rivers have to offer we create a new menu each Friday which offers fresh meals, salads and freezer packs.

Our menu is available at www.cookaborough.com/dinner-is-served and delivery is available Wednesday and Friday.

Where do you deliver to?

We currently deliver across the Northern Rivers including Ballina, Alstonville, Goonellabah and Lismore, Lennox Head, Suffolk Park, Byron Bay and Broken Head, Bangalow, Myocum, Mullumbimby and Ocean Shores. Pick up is available from our Kitchen Door at Unit 2/30 Piper Drive in Ballina.

How can I pay?

We now offer the following payment options;

  1. Credit Card through the secure Stripe payment gateway
  2. Invoice – Get in touch at hello@dinnerisserved.com.au If you’d like us to invoice you for group or corporate bookings
  3. Cash can be arranged in advance.

 

How much will each dish serve?

All meals are designed as a generous single serving apart from our family pies which are two-person and four-person.

Can I pick up something for dinner tonight?

Absolutely! We’ve recently opened our Chef’s Kitchen Door to the public and you can stop by between 8.00am – 2.00pm Monday to Friday to grab a gourmet bite to eat to go or pick up one of our heat-and-serve meals to take home.

How fresh are the meals? Who makes the food? Where are the ingredients sourced from?

Our Chefs are cooking five days a week so your meal will have been made within two days of delivery, our salads are made the morning of delivery and our freezer meals turn over once a week. Our meals are prepared and packed in our commercial kitchen and air sealed in compostable trays. We work closely with local producers across the Northern Rivers and ingredients are delivered daily. Our meals will last up to five days in the fridge and our salads will last up to three days. Freezer meals can be stored for up to six months.

What if I have special dietary requirements?

We have several vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options on our menu, but please send us an email at hello@dinnerisserved.com.au with any questions or special requests, and we can make some recommendations or work with our chef to try to accommodate your requirements. 

Do you charge delivery?

All orders over $100 are delivered free of charge. For orders under $100, we charge a small delivery fee depending on your area. 

How quickly do you deliver?

We offer two delivery days each week, orders placed by 10pm Monday are available for delivery or pick up on Wednesday, orders placed by 10pm Wednesday are available for delivery or pick up on Friday. Fresh salads and freezer meals are available five days a week from our Kitchen Door at 2/30 Piper Drive, Ballina.

What if I won’t be in during your delivery period window?

We’ll send you an email reminder the morning of your delivery and once our driver has loaded the van you’ll be texted an approximate delivery time based on that days delivery route.

If you won’t be home or you don’t wish to be disturbed, please leave an esky and iceblocks outside and we’ll leave your meals outside for you.

You’ll receive a text message confirming delivery has been made as soon as we’ve delivered your meals.

Do you cater for large groups?

We sure do, whether you’re looking to dazzle your guests with an intimate dinner party (without the shopping and cooking hassle) or holidaying with a group of friends in and around Byron Bay. I’m searching for the perfect gift for someone – do you do gift vouchers?

Absolutely, our gift vouchers remain one of our most popular options. If you need to find a thoughtful gift for new parents,  moving homes, bereavements or families with loved ones in hospital you can purchase a gift voucher at www.cookaborough.com/dinner-is-served and go to the header ‘vouchers’.

You’ll be immediately emailed a downloadable PDF voucher with a unique code for your recipient to use when and how they’d like.

If you’d prefer us to simply turn up with a care package of beautiful meals then you can place an order from our weekly menu and add a note in the comments that it’s a gift, we’ll add a complimentary hand-made gift card with your message and deliver on our next delivery run.

What if I’ve made a mistake on my order?

Send us an email to hello@dinnerisserved.com.au as soon as possible and we will adjust it for you if we are ahead of our delivery window, otherwise we will make our best efforts to accommodate your request.

Does pricing include tax?

Prices exclude 10% Goods & Service Tax (GST), this is added at the checkout.

How long will the meals last in the fridge?

Most main dishes will be fresh for at least five days, but most side dishes such as salad and rice will only be fresh for three.

Can you guarantee what dishes I get?

We make most dishes freshly to order so there may be occasions where we aren’t able to get a key ingredient in time. In those cases we’ll give you a call and let you know what other dishes we have available or what we can make for you.

What if I’m unhappy with the quality or the service?

We pride ourselves on the freshness, quality, generous portions (and of course deliciousness) of our meals and we genuinely want to delight you with the entire Dinner Is Served experience, however we understand that ordering food can occasionally be a disappointing affair so we offer you a money back guarantee. If you’re unhappy in anyway with your meals or our service we will refund you.

What is the meaning of life?

We’re pretty sure it starts and ends with good food, good friends, family and wine. But we’re probably not the best qualified to answer that. Or then again, maybe we are!
